I want to know why ups freight wont even except my application because im an employee of ups package now. according to HR that is true I would have to be unemployed for them to except it..

I don't see how that is fair and how can I just take a chance and quit my job at package without freight not even guaranteeing me a job, if they would then I would do it.

I guess im just frustrated and wanted to see what you all had too say or recommend? thanks

No way would I quit parcel to go to freight,......................

why do you say that? I really want to and have had 3 interviews at 2 different locations but always same outcome. its just crazy to me you have someone willing to do the job and is qualified in everyway plus has been in the ups atmosphere for 6 years I just don't see why its not a no brainer

Because parcel has better work rules and wages,........

And you have 6 years in at parcel, Why give that up??

We have always been told in order to work for small PAC we would have to quit to get rehired. Then we have been told after leaving ups for what ever reason we will not get rehired by ups.

In Harrisburg small pack need drivers, there is a account that freight has to pick up for small pack,.
I asked small pack if I could transfer they told me the same thing.
I had to quit and re app to them.
So they can use us when they need but can't work there less we quit...

On the account we pick up for small pack that is only because of hazmat. They don't have the authorization to haul placarded trailers and we do.

According to the supervisor from parcel that was at Soda Stream in Lancaster, PA it was because UPS does not have the DOT authorization to transport placarded hazmat nor does UPS want to pay the extra money to get the higher insurance and the certification cost for the drivers. Remember they have to pay for the endorsement should they require it for continued employment

Yes they do have a CDL because here in PA their delivery truck is considered a class B vehicle with air brakes. Also feeder drivers out here would have to have a CDL as well due to driving a class 8 truck with twin pups.

I know you were probably being sarcastic but if your gonna pick on parcel at least make it believable lol

Here in Va. the package drivers do not have CDLs, a few might but for the majority, no.

They might have "air brakes" on their regular license and that is very possible.

Then they aren't using their typical delivery truck then because I believe the gross is over 10k pounds which would put them in class B cdl range

Lol I'm not in a pissing competition with you. I just got the tow confused with main vehicle weight that's all.

Stay where you are, this side is no better, keep the time you have. Why would you want to leave, and come here to struggle for work.
