FedEx Freight | Hope all you pro union guys give this some thought

Just dropping a line in here dont know if all the pro union guys are thinking are not if this thing gets voted in and becomes a national thing just think about all these drivers that have been displaced over the years that are gonna go back to where they wanna be or want when that whole one year and a day crap kicks in with seniority city guys are gonna love this cuz they gonna bump so many road drivers around it aint funny you, yall so worried about sticking it to the company your gonna stick it to yourselves and the union is gonna do nothing but laugh all the way to the bank and tell you remember we said everything is negotiable lol!!!

If you sound like a Union Buster, then you MUST BE a Union Buster. Go crawl back under your rock, we are smarter than you, the Company and even the Teamsters. We cannot be bought By Company or Teamsters that easily. People won't rest until a fair and equitable contract is put together and is presented to the company during negotiations. When that time comes.

What page in the contr........oh that's right, there isn't one. YET! What's next? Are you going to tell me that dues are 30% of our weekly pay or that most of it goes to getting Obama a third term:hysterical:

Way I understand it is if you want to go from one board to the other you have to apply for the job just like anyone not already with the company and the your seniority is just for the pension. Your seniority starts all over from hire date for particular job class. I may be wrong not sure but that's what an ABFer told me they do.

Well, that's one pointer WE will NOT allow on a contract. We'll have play it smart.
@ droppingaturd... I mean, a deuce!! LOL

I do have a question for anyone who wants to answer. I will grant you the "fact" that if you do organize you will not be in central states pension for sure, and probably not in any multi employer fund for that matter it will most likely be something of your own. But my question is how can you vote yes with out knowing, that seams like a pretty important part of your life (especially for the younger guys) to just leave up to someone to say "just trust me it will be better".

Not.... You should be able to advance if you want, or if have changes in life to make you go from Road to City or City to Road You should not be penalized.
Well, I'm not gonna argue sorry, this argument is as old as the horse and wagon.

Older.......
My two cents.
For the road board, unless they change the extra board to a wheel, the bottom guys on the extra board would really suffer when senior drivers jump in.

Just sayin'

At UPS Freight if you cross from city to road or road to city you loose all you seniority for bidding.....Seniority is only good for layoff and vacations which is wrong

If you were involved when we organized, maybe you could have voted on single line seniority like all of us did in New England. One list and our seniority counts for every thing. Dock, City or Road. Its called a supplement to our contract that supersedes any language in the contract. Single Line Seniority.

All the terminals should have it the same way. Never even heard such a thing mentioned around here. So when you bid is it an open bid you can go city, road, or dock or is the seniority just for the class your in? Or is it if they have another opening in a class you can move over and keep your seniorty?

At bid time we can go anywhere we want with our seniority. The whole barn bids at once. Single line seniority.

How can you say what WE WILL ALLOW and what we wont. Its a vote that has to be negotiated with FedEx. So lets not get ahead of ourselves.

True, but they also said in meetings that they would never sign a contract without a management clause. Nothing different between the two statements.

Here soon this thread will need moved to the UPS forum :eck13:

Every contract has a management clause but what they won't tell you is that with that clause there is a union over site. The company will still call the shots for business issues union has nothing to due with the decisions management makes

Ok then, let me know how that goes for ya....won't fly

I can let you know right now how that goes.........Its great, we (New England) have had single line seniority since day one when we became union. It was as simple as going to the union hall meetings and taking a vote on single line seniority at our first contract ratification. Its called a supplement to our contract that supersedes any language in the contract. Won't fly?

Why? Plenty of union barns have a single board where road and city bid together. It flies just fine.

There's four times that it's been explained.. It supersedes any language in the contract... Meaning.... It Flies....
