I recently got my cdl and am looking for a good company to work for. Is abf hiring? Do they hire drivers with no experience? Do they have terminals in mn? I heard they do not hire teams, is that true? My bf is a driver and would be willing to switch companies. Would greatly appreciate feedback!

I can't help you with the teams part of it but the rest is pretty much yes, yes and yes. If they are in need of drivers and you pass their scrutiny they will send you for more training and hire you. But it depends on the supply and demand.

ABF is a very good company to work for but if you are looking for a road driving job, and you have no experience, I do not believe you will be hired at ABF. At least in the south. That belief is based on the fact that ABF Atlanta has not hired a single road driver with less than 5 years experience in recent memory (20yrs or so). Good luck and remember to be safe!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your help! Where is an abf terminal in mn?

Eagan does have a road board. If i remember right from when I had my interview I had most drivers are extra board with a couple bid runs. I thought for sure they would have a bigger road board out of eagan. Does st.cloud have any linehaul drivers?

Why would anyone come to ABF anymore? The pay? Pfft! We're not the highest paid. Pension? Pfft! The pension is all but dead.

Your ravishing personality is enough to bring 'em along. You're a regular Pied Piper leading the masses to destruction. :hilarious:

Look, you old farts are going to get your pensions. The new young guys probably won't. Don't blame the messenger.
I wouldn't be so pessimistic Stoney I believe you will too. I know I have some years when I accrued $200+/month for year of service and those days are gone for now but I do hope that they return for those who are still working in the near future. Most things run in cycles and I am hoping this pension situation is one of them.

Ya sure. I've seen nothing that will save the pensions. Not a thing. Hope and faith won't save our pensions.
