I joined Teamsters Local #299 in Detroit, Jimmy Hoffa's Local, in 1968 working for Ellis Trucking Company. Ellis was bought out by Navajo Freight Lines, I served as both Alternate Steward and Steward for 8 years. I was transferred to Local 135 in Indianapolis in July 1972. I went to work for Local 135 as a Business Representative in 1978. I was appointed Secretary-Treasurer in 1988 and held that position until I was appointed President in 1996. I have 2 sons, a daughter and 2 grandsons.

Wouldn't it be nice if we had someone at the international like that, instead of letting Yrc do whatever they want? I've had it with this company's mismanagement and Hoffa not doing anything about it. It's time to turn the heat up on Welch, start producing results or get out of the way and let someone else give it a try. Fed up with hearing what a great job he is doing just because they're close to breaking even most quarters.

Notice that the letter DOES NOT copy in Gordon Sweeton, Tyson Johnson, Ken Hall, or James Hoffa?! Where is the IBT Freight Division when you need them?!

We need more people to put this company back in its place.
As soon as we took a pay cut abuses started. It needs to stop. And all the failures need to be placed where they belong. On the company and the inferior supervision they have brought in. They have no clue. Most were not even born in 78.
This company's management is running it by procedures used in the 70's and 80's. If they do not look for ways to operate more in line with the other LTL's, we will just continue to swim with the sharks. If management and labor together do not try to work together on changing operational procedures, we will stay where we are now.

Maybe more would get dine.If the leadership would quit drinking so much and the rest of them to get their heads out of the sands.Afterall they do work for US.

Tyson Johnson has been a proud Teamster since 1967. During that time, he has served as steward, business agent and an officer of Local 745 in Dallas. He got his first Teamster job in 1967 on the dock at Yellow Freight. He became a business agent for Local 745 in 1979. He served as an officer, including Secretary-Treasurer, of Local 745 from 1985 until 2003. Since then, he has devoted all his energy to his duties as an International Vice President and as the Director of the Teamsters Freight Division and Trustee of the Southern Region Pension Trust.

I'm sure Tyson's going to jump all over Darren Hawkins and James Welch and get this straightened out asap?!

Sometimes when it comes to people being in an authoritative position for decades the people they serve become invisible.
Not all but Tyson may be one.
We need fresh blood in there... Good but strong people that are for the people that actually pay them to represent. 100% of the time. Not 90...or even 99 percent. Now this will never happen because some think these people are gods. False gods. I know this is fantasy and will never happen.
Sad state of affairs.
Now I don't know Danny... I would hope he is doing the right thing. I think our other representatives take notice.
On with the show.
