While we are struggling with givebacks, pension cuts etc. Mr. Nyhan received a raise last year for his "efforts".
Look at the figures:

2013

H&W Fund 411,646
Pension Fund 250,414
662,060

2014

H&W Fund 426,481
Pension Fund 268,305
694,786

Some have ask will Mr. Nyhan take a pay cut when he cuts our pension?
Yea, sure he will,

"When pigs Fly!!" :438:

They have done what was needed to be done, Zollars and Welch ruined the moral, Hoffa ruined the pay scale, and now Nyhan has ruined our golden years.. So can anyone tell me the need to pay dues any more?? We are nothing more than a nonunion carrier that has medical benefits for now,, but Im sure Pierson will figure a way to screw us out of these in the next coming months..

Very well said

Why hasn't this guy been fired? I understand that Cspf has structural problems with membership declining, but they are guilty of gross mismanagement at best. More than likely criminal activity involved is the only reason I can think of as to why the Hoffa administration hasn't removed him. I don't think Hoffa wants a fresh set of eyes in the books.

Maybe we should have a dues strike until our Union Leaders do something. I mean they did sell us out. They let UPS out of the CSPF so they could unionize UPS Freight with a sub-standard contract, but they all pay union dues! Hoffa also wants to let Kroger out of the CSPF, maybe without withdrawal fees. Who the heck is going to support the fund? They need to get off their butts and organize some new companies into the Fund!

Ha , just like everything else the union-yrcw has to do with , like cut our pay & give em a BONUS or Nyhan a pay raise , just like what we did back for Zollars and now Welch , BUT how ever JAMIE is worth it !!!! and it will never ever change , the rich get our -15% and we get poorer !!!:horseshit:

Hoffa didn't hire him. He was appointed by the Department of Labor. Our pension fund has been under government control since 1978. I believe a 1982 mandate forbid the CSPF from handling any of our pension dollars, because they didn't want the Union mishandling our pension dollars. So they had The Wolves on Wall Street in 100% control of our pension money. And, that my friend is how we lost 8.8 billion dollars in the 2008 crash. Goldman Sach's and Northern Trusts who were working on our behalf (and whom our pensions were heavily invested in) lost a lot of money. These banks were bailed out, their CEO's probably received millions+ If not billions for saving the companies, with government assistance. And, our pension money is gone. Now CSPF wants to reduce their liabilities by cutting earned pensions by 22.6% or 11 billion dollars. Hummm, something sure does stink here! In my opinion Nyhan is guilty of gross mismanagement by letting this get so out of control. He doesn't want to lose his cushy salary. I'm not sure why he was needed to oversee the pension or the need to pay all of the trustees and secretaries which cost our Pension Fund about 3.7 million dollars for 11 people and that is only the members on the board. (I think that number was for 2013, but don't quote me... I don't think I could find anything for 2014). The government helped create this mess by not allowing us to handle our own pensions and having to pay exborbanet fees to investment banker that had their best interest in mind, not ours. I think the Government should make our pensions whole, they helped create this mess! AND, give Nyhan the boot!

Ok that makes more sense. I knew the government overlooked our pension, but I didn't know they actually appointed the people to do it. Yeah we had a lot better returns with the mafia handling the money. But that should be obvious since we all know The mafia is a bunch of amateur crooks compared to Goldman Sachs.

It seems that the most important thing about these cuts is to preserve the salaries of the fat cats that mismanage the CSPF.
Exactly. As far as I can see only rank and file are taking cuts. We are taking cuts to save the pension fund so the Fatcat's can continue to receive their big bucks each month. We are also taking cuts to save the PBGC fund. I say bullcrap. Vote NO and let CSPF run it's course. When it fails it will take these Fatcat bastards with us. This is what they do not want.

Remember Wall Street-to big to fail-remember GM- to big to fail-but when retires face the to big to fail situation-screw them. Welcome to the shafting of the American working class.

It wouldn't be so bad if a person had time to prepare for a 50% cut in their pension benefit and knew that was the amount they would receive in retirement. But, to have Congress go back and renege on the ERISA laws that protected people already retired is dirty!!! I'll bet 75% of these retirees cannot go back into the workforce. Call, write, e-mail your Representatives and Senators and tell them how you feel about this MPRA bill being snuck into the cromnibus budget bill. Tell them you would like them to support Bernie Sanders Keep Our Pension Promises Act and Rob Portmans Pension Protection Act, which would make every vote cast count. If a vote isn't cast it isn't counted and the voting results are final, no overriding by adept of Treasury. Let the PBGC fail, it's projected to go broke before CSPF anyway.

the barn door was left open the cattle got out and already slaughtered . kind of late to worry about slamming that door now

They didn't they just made sure that any party called to invest for the fund was a reputable certified investment company. They the government had no say in the day to day investments. That was the job of Nyhan the Terrible. He has really done grave damage to the fund and it was hoffa and company that along with the companies put him in control. The government just cleared him for no involvement in the MOB.

But make no mistake that he is the one that has to bare the burden for much of the funds down fall.
But we need to get the real facts not the BS. We need to find out who all the players are and were.

Then we can start to form a plan of action. But I will agree Nyhan the Terrible must GO!

We are missing the issue the issue is we have lost so many active members and companies paying into the fund so the percent of return can't make up for the lost contributions over the years. I am not defending CSPF and or Nyhan at all but the blame goes to congress 1980 with deregulation of the industry and the Teamsters forgetting how to organizising, along with their unwillingness to change from the pension funds to some type of 401k matching programs or both.
