UPS Freight is running ads in national markets for owner operators. Every terminal has cut runs and given the runs to outside carriers while the drivers paying union dues are forced to sit at home, even though they are guaranteed work in their classification per Art 44. sect A. ( page 90 ). The international union is not enforcing this language so why do they continue to collect dues? The percentage of freight on rails and outside carriers is now at a staggering 55%. Why are we not outside the gate taking a stand? UPS has shown their plans for future business practice and bargaining unit road drivers are not in the picture.
