Delivery Windows

Well gang,
Looks like the fun's over, we had a quarterly meeting at work today to tell us how we were doing or how we did for this quarter and well, there was some room for improvement.

There changing around some stuff and I don't much care for it. Were now going to be on delivery windows in the future, and basically what they did was make a lot more work for them selves considering 95% of our stops don't have delivery times and don't have delivery windows. Now the good news is there is no prior delivery window history so were writing the history right now and the window isn't like 15 minutes it's more then that, it seems reasonable, however, I don't like it. Everytime it seems we have a big meeting at work I remembered why I worked for my self for 4 years, oh well.

I wouldn't get too excited over delivery windows, chances are it's more for the dispatcher/computer to assist in setting routes and managing man power, and besides for most customers if you show up more than 5 minutes either side of your average arrival time you're either early or late, not that they care that much, they just know.

Yeah the windows, it's just a big thing for show and also because now every distribution company is on some kind of electronic devise so they can show customers look, look were 4.2 seconds better then our competitors see look, look.

Routers have no clue what delivery windows are. They use them to make themselves look good. Mike, take a ride down to Akron and get an app with "us"(not US Foods) ;-)

I'm big time company boy now two back hauls two days in a row. I got my regular truck back to straight out of the Pittsburgh service pool where it was being passed around more times then Cleopatra.
