FedEx Freight | Gardena CA on strike, walkout!

Don't get coworkers confused with family...I'm at FedEx to make money for my family. If you want family start a family business !

What's the matter Billy your family disown you?
Just disregard him. He was on the Conway site about a week ago telling everyone how OD is taking advantage of their drivers. He tells so many untruths he can't remember his own stories. This is about FedEx not OD. Some off us choose to cut bait, for you that are willing to stick it out, I hope a fair resolution can be found. Life is too short not to be happy.

I doubt $300,000,000 will bankrupt this company if it were even to happen at once. Phased in over time as more centers vote it in it would not even be noticed as it would be part of the budget. The company raises it rates every year 4-5% to cover increases and add to it's profit. Why did the company offer the pilots 3% pay increase? Because they covered it with the annual rate increase.
Spoken like a true liberal. Thinking you are entitled to 300 million of someone else's profit sounds like something Obama would propose. Like taking part of the profits from your paycheck to give to someone who works at McDonald's because that person deserves to be able to live life at the same level you are. You know, the redistribution of wealth thing, and then you want to offset the cost by passing it on to the customer, which ultimately passes the cost right back to you and me the consumer lol. ..great plan.

So wanting a fair shake and a non declining benefits package is redistribution of wealth???? Last time I checked no one working for fed ex is getting wealthy driving a truck. Also all that profit they make wouldn't be possible without either party participating. Fed ex raises rates every year so the consumer is already getting charged. Get in game driver.

You may not have been here, but should the company have asked for a fair shake in 2010 when it lost 153 million, or in 2009 when it lost 44 million? IIRC we saw wage increases those years despite the losses. As far as benefits, save a few notable exceptions, the entire country's have decreased; many far more severely than ours. Funny how the folks that bad mouthed the corporations before have led us to the point we are now, through their utopian, "chicken in every pot" ideals, while still taking every opportunity to try and blame the evil corporations for how it turned out.

Carry on.....

Show me a link that shows we lost the money you claim. Wall street got us in the mess plain and simple people who bad mouthed the corporations had nothing to do with it.

That depends on your definition of "wealthy"...we have quite a few single income drivers at my center who are doing quite well; nice home, nice cars, kids in private school, etc..., it's not what you make but rather how you spend/save what you make!!

The quarterly/yearly reports are public knowledge......readily available on our own website, look at them yourself.

I am sure you know the tax codes better than any of the governmental agencies appointed to uphold the law........I am also sure that you don't take any tax breaks you are entitled to by law when you complete yours every year.

Lol ok I doubt I will ever get away with paying zero tax for 3 years but one could dream I guess. Do those reports include taxes??

If this is the forum to hand out advice, I would recommend not being so quick to argue with a premise just because you dont want to believe it, especially when the information is publicly accessible to anyone........note that in addition to what I originally posted, we also lost 175 million in FY11.

FXF stats are on page 34.....

Where did i say i didn't believe you? I said post the link so it's alot easier for everyone to see. There are alot of clowns on here who just say just about anything, and can't prove anything they say to be true, so don't get upset when i ask for a link. I am kind of simple do they include taxes on those reports? Earlier you said we got small raises during the down years but they also took away the company match on 401k so that's kind of a moot point.

Haven't figured out an easy way to post links on my phone, so kind of irritating when I am not near a computer, sorry but I am pretty technology impaired. Not much for accounting myself, but I would think they would have to in order to be compliant with the sec. I believe the 401k deal actually lasted less than a year, but I believe raises came every year, despite the pretty severe losses.

That's why i asked about taxes, don't see them listed anywhere.

If you weren't getting a fair shake you would have quit already. We are truck drivers not brain surgeons. Compared to all the trucking companies in the entire united states I would say as far as trucking jobs go fedex is toward the top. Not the best but toward the top. We could be making .33 a mile and only see the house once month for a day and a half with insurance so high you have to take a side job polishing tanks and wheels at the truck stop on your down time.

If I remember correctly there was no raise in 09 then in 2010 only top rate got a raise. I can't remember the specifics on the 401K, CT and others might have a SMALL case about pay but I get tired of you guys acting like you make minimum wage.

So all you responded to was the first sentence of my post? I could be working at Mcdonalds also, don't know what your point is comparing established and experienced drivers to what a over the road driver with zero experience has to do with anything.
