Hello Internet Trucker Friends,
Today on the news they had a story a story that I already perdicted and saw coming from a mile away and so did many others like Magoo and Jimmy G and while certainy there are differences of opinion I think we all agreed on this one and that was usually with these big events some individual places do really well and the rest do worse then normal peace time.
Story on the news down town and the suburbs the bars and restarurants all very very slow. They all are having a bad week.
I know the exact reason, for one 25,000 plus people came in on Charter Bus all those trips were pre arranged and there was no "let's go to the burbs to see what's happening unstructured free time." Charter Busses don't work like that.
2. None of the locals had any way to drive down town and park there car and nobody in Cleveland really digs public transportation not really I mean in peace time it's good for some down town workers but over all the majority here my self included public transport does not work for and we do not know how it works and it's not worth learning because we know it doesn't work for us and the RTA knows that as well.
Plus who wants to go down to a police state with the constant threat of a riot happening. Although really there hasn't been anything major. Actually no kidding the police and Black Lives Matter both set aside there differences and had lunch together today no joke it was on the news so even the protestors and would be rioters are running out of gas. Tomorrow it's all over and that's that.
I think big picture Cleveland looked really good and long term no we won't be Vegas but long term I think will get some other conventions and get some good stuff in here but stuff that doesn't have police states and protestors.
For a long time they wanted to make a medical m a r t here. That idea fell through but like medical trade shows or steel industry trade shows or salt industry stuff we do all that here and we should capitalize on that.
Actually we should do truck trade shows Cleveland actually has a ton of trucking work what ever you want we have Food, LTL, OTR, expedite and more. So we have all that stuff that's all good stuff to look into.
