TForce | 2023 Contract negotiations.

This isn't your father's ups
did you take that to be some social cause? And apparently some social cause that you disagree with?

Because she said that during a speech where she was talking about kicking out packages that aren't profitable. That's what I took those words to mean. That we wouldn't just take volume for volume's sake as we had in the past.

You sir don't even work here and haven't for some time and didn't for very long. Seems as if you're happy where you're at and don't have a dog in this fight yet you come on here acting as if you do. The only thing you've commented on is our contract negotiations. You're either a troll or management.
That's you Tri, a troll. I guess we don't all read most of the posts. Troll on bruda!

Before it was all the rules that we had to follow, and what good little sheep we were. Now it's how far our standards have fallen. Pick one, please.

Or break down and admit that you just don't like UPS. lol
Speaking of pick one, please...

UPS Truck Leasing Ran a few years, sold the truck leasing to Rollins, then Purchased Rollins Logistics.
Were they crazy geniuses and purposely ran the truck leasing unprofitable just to purchase Logistics... Or did they just not know what they were getting into, sold truck leasing, and offered to buy logistics as a salvage attempt?

UPS Freight Ran a few years, Sold to TFI and got out of CSPF and did some misc underhanded things to promote Package side.
Did they buy us just to do the card check/CSPF and on purposely Run us like a package company knowing all along that they were going to use LTL as a loss leader in the end... OR did they just not know how to run anything but a Parcel company?

Weren't they in healthcare also?

Maybe Tome' is the Genius that will keep UPS in their lane. No more side hustles.

Still sticking it to us!

Please excuse any misspellings or run on sentences etc.I was typing to fast.
TForce is no ABF right now. ABF has become a premium service carrier by having the lowest claims rate in the industry. Their march toward being a premium carrier has taken years but it is paying off with much higher revenue per cwt. TForce will be fine if Alaine gets needed concessions on the teamster healthcare portion of benefit package. TForce profit margin has improved though a lot of it is smoke and mirrors pulled by mgmt. You cannot be the highest cost carriers in the industry and expect to make it in the long run. The LTL industry is cut throat and victims go down all the time. Yellow would be dead if not for the recent gov't bailout.

TForce is still being run by a bunch of clueless small package operators though they report to Bedard, not UPS. Alaine up in Canada has no clue how to run a US based LTL carrier.

There you go again a former employee who claims to have been a union member and won numerous awards who only comments on our contract wanting concessions. I think by now people have saw thru your bs.

There are a few of those who show up every contract year, pitching their bull ::shit::.
I wouldn't expect too many drastic changes in the first contract with TFI.
The transition is in full swing, the last thing TFI wants is a labor issue.
The contract will be just good enough to get 50% +1 to vote for it. That is the reality.
The biggest change will be the cover page, and the language of grievance panels. Since at the moment there are no panels.

One issue that the company wants to do away with is the red circle on road drivers.
I was told that the union in turn would want an 8/40 guarantee for road drivers at top pay, not the current $37.+ Per hour.
It has also been proposed that we go to single line seniority.
One seniority roster for all full-time employees, with one bid per year.

Hell no to one line seniority thats how you end up with damn snowbirds. The only people who benefit at all are the very top drivers everyone else gets screwed

If a road driver wanted to be a a P&D driver he should do his time in the city and vice versa. Idk about your barn but ours bids 4 to 5 times a year. A driver deserves stability many simply can't switch due to family obligations.
