how long until it catches Old Dominion and ugh, SAIA?Arcbest stock is rated as a very good stock to buy they are predicting it will keep increases at a pretty good pace
Why does Saia and ODFL stock cost more then Arcbest stock, I never understood that.how long until it catches Old Dominion and ugh, SAIA?
not just a little more, but 3.5 = 4 times more? Union-Non Union? Why does Saia and ODFL stock cost more then Arcbest stock, I never understood that.
Maybe because ABF pays in to a pension & Saia & ODFL don't have to. I was once told the pension payments represent about 20% more in higher freight rates, & a lower stock price. If Saia only has to match 6% in a 41k that is a lot less than 250.00 a week for pension fund obligations. 7 years ago ABF was paying 35,000 per year, per employee. 15 grand went for the medical & 20 grand went to the pension side. Not many companies pay to their employees 35 grand a year before the first dollar in wages. von.Why does Saia and ODFL stock cost more then Arcbest stock, I never understood that.
I agree...I am now enjoying that generous benefit!Maybe because ABF pays in to a pension & Saia & ODFL don't have to. Same here. 17 years vested all ABF 2040.00 gross each month. von.I agree...I am now enjoying that generous benefit!
I understand what you're saying but UPS has the same benefits and their stock price is a lot higher then most other trucking companiesMaybe because ABF pays in to a pension & Saia & ODFL don't have to. Comparing share price alone is somewhat meaningless without taking into account number of shares outstanding, company size and many other financial/business factors. Why does Saia and ODFL stock cost more then Arcbest stock, I never understood that.
UPS is a package carrier not a trucking company.I understand what you're saying but UPS has the same benefits and their stock price is a lot higher then most other trucking companies
Good point. Not to many drivers @ UPS make work man comp claims from tread mill injury deliveries. Different bottom line, different expenses to net a buck. von.UPS is a package carrier not a trucking company.
