- In December last year Amazon purchased "thousands of truck trailers" http://www.businessinsider.com/amazon-buys-thousands-of-its-own-branded-truck-trailers-2015-12

- Now , they are in the process of buying a French shipping company ( parcels ) http://www.retailwire.com/news-article/18785/is-amazon-preparing-to-dump-fedex-and-ups

- Amazon says that it is growing faster than any delivery company ( FedEx , UPS , XPOL , etc..) so it has to come up with its own solutions http://www.wsj.com/articles/SB10001424052702304788404579521522792859890

-XPO Last Mile has Amazon for one of its larger customers http://www.xpo.com/services/last-mile

We ( XPO Logistics formerly Con-way Freight ) haven't been told very much up to this point but you have to wonder is LTL a piece of the puzzle.

I have a family member that works for ups. He said the Amazon packages coming to ups for deliveries this year has gone way down compared to last year.
My wife delivers mail and the post office couldn't keep up with all the Amazon packages. She is a rural carrier and gets paid by the route, so she took a beating on her eight hour evaluation!

We get pups full, pures from xnw, I don't know about sub-service? Amazon has a distribution center in Windsor that is pretty big for us, I think before xpo. You would have to have someone ask the fac guy. He used to run the inbound.

when im done with my zones, before i go on my run, i look at the arrivals and see whats coming to xsx for zones and i see on a regular basis that ULA load

These are some interesting times we are living in. Everyone needs to be keep their ear to the ground.

Sound like they are trying to follow the Walmart play book. Walmart is the largest privately owned transportation fleet

Walmart runs add on XM radio all the time talking about $80 + your first year. We had a guy leave and say he loves it working there
When I first started driving ( Schneider National ) , I met a Wal-Mart driver and talked with him about his job. ( I joked and asked how does he keep his shirt sooooo white and clean? )

He told me he had a schedule were he worked a week ( over-the-road ) and was off a week and STILL got paid for the off week! I never did look into it but if true , that's the best.

7 off 7 on ! & 5off 3off ! are what they do for o.t.r and 7/7 you share truck with one guy,the other you share two trucks with three drivers and the last one is for local!
