This will probably vary depending on what fund you are in. For me, my health insurance is covered as long as I am collecting the weekly disability, which is good for six months. If I were to be out for more than six months I would experience a lapse in benefits but I do not know if there is any delay in that loss. The best thing you could do is call your fund and ask them. They should be able to either provide you a written determination or point you towards the language in your plan summary.
