Truckingboards suffered a catastrophic hardware failure on 03/20/2019 SSD Hard Drive failed completely and even though I had it set to make backups it did not back up properly. Hard Drive was completely dead and no way to recover anything on it. I always did periodic manual backups but always assumed the automatic backups would be there but they weren't so lesson learned. Our database has gone back in time we are using a manual backup from 01/17/19 What does this mean to you as the user. 1. If you registered after 01/17/19 you have no account here and no posts so you will have to re-register, there is no way to recover this data 2. If you posted anything to your account, Changed any settings or anything on Truckingboards between 01/17/19 - 03/21/19 it is gone and not recoverable. If you uploaded an avatar between those dates it will not be there and you will need to re upload If you changed your password or email after 01/17/19 you will have to do it again This is very disturbing to me and I am not happy about, Most of the blame is on me for not having better backups. Welcome back all edited 0913 am est When I say data loss I don't mean the website was compromised I mean the data is just gone forever. Truckingboards does not handle any sensitive data except your email address. That is all that would be ever stolen if the server was compromised. We do no credit card transactions and anything we ever sold was thru paypal and they are a secure site. I will soon be making updates to the site to stay ahead of the curve. Not today or tomorrow but soon.
