story link(05-18) 09:24 PDT SANTA CRUZ - Hundreds of large frozen cod spilled from a truck onto Highway 17 near Summit Road this morning, forcing authorities to close part of the road while they cleaned up the mess.
A load of the fish -- each up to 15 inches long -- tumbled from a commercial fish transport truck around 4 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fish filled at least one lane of Highway 17 north of Summit Road, the California Highway Patrol said.
