Hate to go back to the old hotline solution. If the issue is real and you can prove policy infractions, you can win. If grey areas, not so much.

The best part about using alert line is the paper trail. They have to document what was done, and the whole chain of command is aware.

That's why I always tell people to document retaliation as well. The ethics line works, especially for low level supervisors. It's a career killer.
