Founder Clarence Werner hands keys to Gary, Gregory Werner, Derek Leathers

Clarence L. Werner, the founder of Werner Enterprises, is stepping down as chairman of the $1.8 billion trucking company. Werner, a former truck driver, founded the carrier with one truck in 1956.

Gary L. Werner will become chairman and Gregory L. Werner vice chairman and CEO as part of a management reorganization while Derek J. Leathers will become president and chief operating officer.

The management changes will take effect after Werner's annual stockholder meeting May 10.......................
