Teenager Who Sexually Assaulted Girls in Virginia County Won’t Have to Register as sez Offender: Judge

A teenager who was convicted of sexually assaulting girls at two different Virginia high schools and apparently assaulted a third will not have to register as a sez offender, a judge ruled Thursday.

The 15 year old, whose name has not been made public, was ordered by Loudoun County Juvenile Court Judge Pamela Brooks in mid-January to register for the registry, which helps members of the public learn where convicted sez offenders reside.

Just two weeks later, Brooks reversed her decision, local news outlets reported.

The judge said she mistakenly accepted an oral motion from prosecutors asking for the registration and that the prosecutor’s office had not submitted a written motion, WJLA-TV reported.

Brooks said in her judgment that juvenile court is aimed at rehabilitating criminals and noted a recent report entered by defense lawyers that says nearly all 12- to 17-year-old sez offenders who receive treatment do not commit additional crimes in the future.

Brooks also revealed the teen is accused of assaulting a third girl but that girl has not come forward yet.

“The person who committed these horrible crimes against these three young women will not have to bear the shame at being known as a lifetime registered sez offender, as he was originally sentenced. Rather, we are now concerned more than ever that this change in his legal status may put other parents’ daughters at risk of harm in the future,” they said.

In just the last year, police say 16-year-old Emilio Corripio used a gun at least three times in a carjacking.

In one of the attacks, he hit a victim in the face with a pistol equipped with a laser sight, according to police reports. In another, he waved a .375-caliber Magnum with the serial numbers scratched out.

After pleading guilty last fall, Corripio was given probation and was back on the street with a gun last Saturday in Little Village, police say. This time he allegedly pulled the trigger while aiming at rival gang members standing on the corner on busy 26th Street.

As he fired, 8-year-old Melissa Ortega was crossing the street with her mother. They ran when they heard the first shots, the little girl looking over her shoulder, then going limp as two bullets struck her in the head.

Corripio then jumped into a cab driven by his friend, Xavier Guzman, 27, and they headed to a Subway to grab a sandwich.

Dumbing Down The SAT Perfectly Sums Up The State Of American Education

These pointless changes to the SAT will let schools off the hook, and allow College Board to make money and virtue signal at the same time.

In a recent announcement, College Board expressed plans to make significant changes to the SAT that will go into effect in 2024. The test will be fully digital and shortened from roughly three hours to two. The reading passages will be made shorter and the math section will allow the use of a calculator throughout. In short, the test will be easier for both the testers and the person being tested.

According to College Board, the changes are meant to address concerns with access because of Covid and —>>the lack of equity <<—— in the SAT, which some allege favors certain racial and socioeconomic groups. The complaint about equity has led a large number of colleges to stop using SAT scores as part of their admissions. Evidently, College Board is hoping that making the test easier and shorter will narrow these performance gaps and restore the usefulness of the SAT as an assessment for college readiness.

Now the SAT is abandoning any pretense of objectivity. Sure enough, the scores on the test will likely rise, gaps between students will likely narrow, and college admissions offices may feel more comfortable using SAT scores to gauge incoming students’ ability to succeed.

But all this will do is hide the ugly truth: the quality of American education as a whole is declining. Kids are learning less both in the high school and college levels, but the “data” will indicate otherwise.

They may not be able to read very well, write a grammatically correct sentence, or solve most math problems, but their scores indicate that they’re just as smart or smarter than other classes.

While there seems to be less of an achievement gap, that’s only because we’ve mostly eliminated the idea of achievement.

The ADL changes its definition of racism *again,* this time using an ‘interim definition’ as a placeholder

As Twitchy reported last month, at some point the Anti-Defamation League changed the definition of “racism” on its website to make it clear that only white people can be racists: “Racism is the marginalization and/or oppression of people of color based on a socially constructed racial hierarchy that privileges white people.” That’s straight out of critical race theory.

We’re not sure why — whether it was because of the backlash or just to protect Whoopi Goldberg — but the ADL has changed its definition again, but like inflation, this definition is only transitory. In other words, they don’t have a working definition of racism at the moment, but check back later.
