Yellow | Company Conference Call Tonight

Well, did everyone listen to the conference call tonight? I asked a question, and they said there were over a hundred ahead of me. A few minutes later they asked my question. I asked about the absenteeism policy. I wanted to know if there was still going to be a nine month length of duration on your record, and if Dr's notes are to be actually considered excused absence's. If you were listening, they said if you have the nine month policy in your region currently, that will not change. They said Dr's notes will be excused unless you exhibit pattern absenteeism etc.

I thought there were several other good points answered during the call. I was an absolute "Hell NO" recently on my vote. I am now thinking I don't wanna buy Obamacare out of my pocket next year, and I really don't wanna start over with no vacation, or sick days, I don't wanna be on call, and work midnight shifts and weekends either. Or start over at the bottom of the pay scale and have to work three years to catch up with the full scale guys (if I can keep my mouth shut and not get fired from being used to working here). Don't get me wrong.... I don't wanna work five more years of our pay cuts etc. either.... Just trying to decide which I dread worse. In the meantime I will be playing the PowerBall and hope I hit it before reality of this all hits me!

Anybody else have any thoughts from the call tonight???

Good for you on at least thinking it all out before making your decision. Good luck with making the right one which ever it is. :1036316054:.

I looked at your proposal, and i have to say one thing. I know it sucks that yrc wants to use outside carriers to run your freight. But the language is very strong. Over here at ups freight our language for contractors SUCK DONKEY BALLZZ, our big break bulk hub in chicago uses an average each month of 64% of all road work goes on rails or contractors, and the new proposal that we voted down in july had no strong language, or penalty clauses. Its a hard decision to make, but if ups freight had th language for contractor use as yours does, my vote would be yes. Now im not including all the other stuff, raises 15% cut, or pension. But ur language on contractor use couldnt be any better. Its sad that we are both represented by the same i.b.t, and yet all we want is strong language on contractors, but yet the ibt just cant grow a set and represent us better then they are now. Good luck brothers, the ups freight teamsters would hate to see yrc fold. Its bad enuf seeibg all these non union doubles up n down the hiways

Yote yes work vote no look for work

I will vote no AND look for work. I was looking for a job when i found this one, won't be the end of the world! Don't be so scared, seniority is over rated anyway and King Obama will take care of you if you get sick!

Really? You really believe they will shut the doors? That is not a choice Welch has. The banks are going to restructure those loans,(if they haven't already ) all the banks want is more time on the m o u . without a break in our contract, so the money i.e. payments keep rolling in. All this other crap Welch, Pierson and all the other talking heads at Y R Squeeze is screwing the hard working employees at Y R Squeeze for 5 more years. Just know this Y R Squeeze isn't worth squat dead. The banks want their payments! They will not close the doors.:1036316054:

I ask Mitch if we are short drivers and we have drivers on layoff from the city. Why cant we be used to make those runs instead of private contractors? His answer, its up to your region contract. The road guys work the dock and drive on layoff so why the hell I have to sit at home while contractors take work that im more than qualified to do!

I know you won't think so (at -15%), but the contractors are Cheaper than paying You..... (considering all the expenses in total, plus they are one way)

If it didn't save them money- they'd FORCE You on it......

No offense SSS, but don't you think a lot of your contract was decided when UPS bought Overnite, and the deal was they let Hoffa organize the freight side with no problems from UPS, and UPS buys their way out of CSPF? Scratch each others backs?

You make a valid point. It kills me, when the bottom of thecroad board gets a soft layoff. We get to work the dock 8 hrs then go home, while the contractors run the freight. With language like your T.A has, we would actually hire more road drivers. We at ups all know the contractors arent going anywhere, like a wise man once said " once you give it away, you wont ever get it back". But if we czn monitor how much they are used and only have a small percentage, then that will be a better senario then the one we r in now

If the absentee policy was so important to them why wasn't the terms spelled out in writing? They can say anything and turn around and do what ever they want because its not in writing. How many rules have they broken for how long and gotten away with it because it wasn't in black and white? We can never get an answer on the amount they rail, how are we to trust them to tell us the total miles they run the non's. No to much room for them to screw us. Just look how much they try to pull now. Enough of giving up our jobs so the fat cats can get their bonuses. Why was there no mention of their sacrifice to the company? I haven't seen my 12,000 dollar raise for car allowance. Just remember you will be paying for your ins with the paltry amount they are going to increase it and you guys at small teminals are going to be out when they use contractors to run you out. Don't believe it? Just watch what they are pulling at ABF. They were not going to close smaller terminals if they got their contract but its starting to happen now. Why 5 years when it would put us a year behind ABF and the others again? Why not just 4 and we all work together. To much bull is coming down the hill for me. A no vote here.

If you are thinking of voting no just don't vote at all!!!!!
WTF!!!!! IF Mr. Welch asking this at the end of that conference tell all y'all we wanna drive da pole up your hole & turn the corna while up in there....I don't know what could be more eye opening or obviously disrespectful to the rank and file. He is basically asking Teamsters to dumb yourself down enough to manipulate the vote for the sake of the YES SUCKAZ!!! Plain ez 2 understand english......!......Hell No......Again.

How much control will you have at a non-union company over Rail use, Contractors, absenteeism, unlimited overtime forced (at maybe straight time), keep your mouth shut or be fired>>>??????

I think it sucks.... don't get me wrong, I want my pay, pension and vacation back! I am just comparing apples to apples if I have to go get a new job. If that was such a great option, none of us would be here anymore.

If they dilute the stock back down to pennies, and they need money, I do not think anyone with a brain will loan them more to pay other loans that they cant afford.

The banks have already made their money off of our backs. They could care less about us. If you vote no, you are going to have look for work. I personally do not want to work non-union. Neither should anyone else. I do not want to see any retirees get their pensions cut because I voted no. I will reluctantly vote yes and take my chances so that others can retire and we can live to fight another day.

Think they are not watching this and other boards ? When Welch makes the statement that no voters should not vote and your question is asked after you were told yours was 100 behind , you can be darnded sure that they are getting nervous that their little plan isn't going their way. They are in collution with ABF . Think it was just a fluke that welch made a offer to buy ABF during the contract? We can't think that they think we are that dumb, or can they.

Im thinking that what is happening with this RUSH TO VOTE,is that it is expected to be voted down, and then, and olny then, there will be NEGOTIATIONS to address the worse parts of it..i think its a case of throw s*** at the wall and see what sticks...well guess what..NONE OF THIS STICKS...vote NO AND WE GO BACK TO NEGOTIATIONS....stop voting for the first piece of fecal matter presented to you,...stand up, maybe for the first time in some of your lives,.vote it DOWN=NO... PERIOD
