Yes posters have posted congrats to me all over this messageboard.
So thanks to everyone for your kind thoughts.
It still seems very wierd after doing a city route for 15 different trucking companies,45 years, and over 2 million miles.
My left clutch knee finally gave out after all of the city shifting.
even though I floated all of the gears,up,and down after I got going my knee just wasn't going to put up with anymore putting the clutch in to stop, and start up.
as well as climbing up into the cab,and from the ground to the inside of my route trailer, doing home, and inside deliveries.
My body was telling me enough already!
I just turned 64 today,I'd of made out a lot better if I could have held out for at least one more year.
But I really didn't want to wind up getting a knee replacement.
So now everyday seems like Saturday.
I get to play on my computer a lot more.
I can read if I want.
Go visit my old friends, all the stuff I couldn't do when I was working everyday.
I'm planing on writing a book, maybe a childerns book not just yet,but I will get around to it by,and by whenever I feel like doing it.
I'm still getting used to being off of working fultime, with many hours where I worked ate,and slept, then recovered on the weekends.
Now its all weekends!
