This may be a useful piece of information for some. At age 59 1/2 you can convert all or part of your 401k to an IRA, even if you are still employed by Saia and continuing to contribute to your 401k. The advantage of this conversion is that you may be able to invest your IRA funds in products not offered by the 401k, such as gold, silver, real estate, cryptocurrencies and more. I wanted the ability to invest my money in crypto and gold, options not offered by our 401k. I converted my 401k to an IRA that allowed me to better control my investment options. There's no tax or anything if the funds are moved from the 401k to an IRA.
