Cool stuff

You should go to New Orleans and see PT-305. Fully restored WWII PT. It was in the Mediterranean around Italy. They had 3 of those engines. We were fortunate enough to be there when they ran them. You can go out on it but pretty pricey.
We get a B17 now and then once in a blue moon. Its a few hundred for a ride. Fuel burn on those things is really pricey by the hour. But the People pay 500 dollars each to get a ride around the airport in the air so its a money maker for them.

Why Trucking has not billed that much to haul a single box of anything in a partly loaded trailer I'll never understand.

In today's world of nut crushing nuetering emissions and electric crap, having a Wasp Major or perhaps a Pratt and Whitney cough to life roaring with horses and all the associated fumes etc to go with it while warming up is a good day to be alive. Its not warmed up yet until you hear literal music from those old engines. Otherwise they are too cold yet to go and sit for a few minutes until the bad noises settle down into something musical with power.

You will do well to pop a set of ear muffs on the children aboard. When those superchargers howl at take off throttle their ears cannot take it. But its a ride that they will NEVER forget.
