Blue Springs, MO — Danny Johnson, 73, Blue Springs, Mo., passed away Sunday, April 25, 2010, surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, Mo.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
Danny was born July 5, 1936, in Vian, OK, the son of Charles and Nokie (Wood) Johnson. He was employed with Yellow Freight until 1973, when he began his career with Teamsters Union Local 41 as a Business Agent. During his time with Local 41 he served as Secretary Treasurer and Vice President. In 1987 he was named President of Local 41 and held that position until his retirement in July 1993. He also served as President of the Joint Council 56 and the MO-Kan Conference. Danny was a member of the Grain Valley Assembly of God. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting. Danny was always the first to offer a helping hand to someone in need
