Straight from TFI’s CEO:
“There’s nothing major with mergers and acquisitions that’s going to happen in 2024”
He also noted that TFI intends to reduce its debt load by 500-600 million dollars. Also, he commented on the continued difficulties with T Force freight.

Let me translate (reduce debt load). I'm going lay off half of the employees, shutdown more terminals and then sell those terminals. Then the next quarter if the numbers are not good enough I will repeat. Eventually he is going to run out of people and properties to get rid of.

Some of the other L.T.L"S might be keeping an eye on T Force to buy up some of their properties in the future. Kind of reminds me of Yellow selling their properties then leasing them back from who they sold them to.
Big difference between TFI and Yellow is with merging of Roadway and Yellow they had many towns with two terminals when one would do....as far as selling and leasing back that was done for cash flow to keep the company going.....

It's not really true that you get paid by shipment weight. Billing classifications are based on the weight versus density. Steel pays less per hundred weight than plastic.

Can't haul the freight if you don't have the shipment. Kind of a stupid statement if you ask me. I'm a teamster though so we know you won't hear me.

After reading this his goals are more of a pipe dream, sure everyone would love to pick up 1,800 pound skids of plastics or perforated steel but that stuff is discounted heavily. I don't often agree with Razorblade but he is right, you have to adjust rates, classifications accordingly. We had a pillow account out of Frackville Pa. obviously the freight was light but ABF made the proper adjustments to make the freight profitable....

Frackville? Holy cow, I used to pass Frackville, then Ravine on my way to Raphine. Sometimes even used to stop at Dutch Kitchen there for lunch/dinner. Small world! :hysterical: :hilarious:

Reading had a pillow account in Lebanon Pa, we used to keep 3-4 sets there at all times. I had switched to UE and never heard why they closed the plant.
