This seems to be the new rule.

Anyone know why? There's been no communication from the company, but guys are getting removed from runs that we just picked.
 
They don't want to pay the time and half i guess with it being slow. Some of Estes terminals are keeping their p&d drivers around the 40- 45 hour mark.
 
In the slow winter months the p&d guys have something called Shared Sacrifice. Basically rotating days off. EVERYONE does it. Thinking that is what is happening now. Spread the wealth.

PYLE is paying time and half after 40 already. What we're doing is we're taking drivers who picked long 60+ hour weekly trips, because they wanted them, and forcing those guys on shorter trips while taking guys who picked shorter trips and making them take longer trips just to get folks under 54 hours.

When the hours are balanced Pyle isn't saving any money as all are still way over the 40 hour OT threshold.

I've been travelling the system and this seems to come direct from the COO but, it seems to make no sense and many drivers I talked to are getting frustrated by it.

So what you’re basically saying is seniority don’t mean 💩
length of Service lets you pick vacation , start times for P&D or runs of L/H and if there is work on Holiday. Pyle has always used Shared Sacrifice to keep everyone working during slow times. Everybody works, earns a paycheck and keeps going instead of using layoffs as some companies do.

No mater what the election results are it probably won't get busier till spring, earlier start to the slow season in LTL.
 
Man have times changed In this industry!
They certainly have and I do not miss anything about being out there with the foolish driving I see just back and forth to the doctors. Lot of reckless drivers , no rules no enforcement. Most cops are too busy looking at their phones avoiding paperwork as my cops do in my town.
