its been 2 weeks how is this working out?

are drivers going into greensboro having to wait long?

is the meet and turn in richmond really a meet and turn or are you having to deal with richmond dispatch?

do you hate your new run and why?

400 miles a night, 14 to 20 hour layovers , seems to be working great . What's not to like? I declare this new plan a success !

Supposedly this thing is a major success. Revenue per trailer load is up per mile and all that jazz. Think about it.. What better way to increase your on-time service, than to increase the amout of days it takes freight to get to where it's going. Then to top it all off they cut good paying runs and limit everyone elses miles by making you wait around hours on end. Then when they have freight for you to run, your hours available dictate how many miles you can run. Hence spending less on pay and increasing revenue for the company. Sure we didn't take a pay cut like some others, but in reality you did when they decide to limit everyone to 400 miles day/night. Something like that. I know the guys that run out of 024 and were forced into this aren't happy and that makes about all of them. I wouldt be happy if I had a run making 80 grand a year and had it cut to 50. In 50 hours on the dock, I bring home just as much as our GBO meet and turn guys.

The bread winner at our terminal is the same driver every year. He is definately no suck @$$. He once had a short hub run and was the bread winner then also. He made $97,000 on extraboard last year. I think alot of the money making depends on the individual. Personally I would run from an $80,000 out and back scheduled run. A few others at my terminal would also. I know "off subject" I can't help myself sometimes.

To make $97,000 a year you have to average over 3500 miles a week.Sorry can't see it happening week after week. To estands4evil,the drivers that had runs cut ,nobody said that a run was forever, they still have work, they got to bid their start times.None of them were making $80,000 a year running I-81,running Richmond they're getting $60,000.Does it suck ?Yes,but other drivers have lost their runs too. It happens, they weren't the first, won't be the last.

average

current run from greensboro to richmond hauling harrisburg freight is only 54,300. not 60,000.

if you had a 500 mile turn before it was 68,900.

i understand why some guys are mad. 14,000 pay cut.

thats why i never max myself out on bills, always look at wifes job as extra. not to go get another boat.

that way if i drop we can make it using hers till i go back up.

to many guys letting wife stay at home trying to make it on one income. then you hear them ***** about wife shopping.

So do you think the so called change is working? I lost my run about 16 weeks ago and been doing the wild board ever since and been averaging about 2500 miles a week. I guess it could be better. Im just waiting to see if all the changes get in place and the so called day runs start working. Im out of 064 so you kind of see the super change we went thru.
We lost just about all of out runs from 25 or so to 7. Now were a dark terminal at the end of line. And the waiting at most of the yards is getting pretty bad. When you arrive at a terminal and your 10 hours is up at 1300 hrs and there making you wait till 2100 hrs to get back on the road is getting pretty bad. The waiting game is on. Does it get better/I guess we'll have to wait and see. cruzcontrol

I don't know the exact number but I heard it was in the upper $96's. Ok, I fudged a little. This guy is a little different than most of us. He will run west and stay out there for 5+ weeks and wouldn't complain about throwing chains or getting home. He also did the full term of that hurricane relief stuff. I hear $600 a day wasn't hard to reach during that time. I did see his check once when I doubted the amount of taxes he was paying. It was over $70 with a few months left.(I know it's different this year but i'm talking about the last few)When I tried to get out there central knew I would wine like a pig tailed 3rd grader after 10 days about getting back to the barn. That probably had alot to do with why i've never been past Temple. :biglaugh: I rather be home doing the landry instead of running 600 miles on the 6th day of the week. We currently have 4 $80k out and backs at my barn. One of them would be hard to turn on a motorcycle in 11 hours. The others have 10 1/2 hour driving time but the bench times make for a long night.

I see changes taking place already. I see more runs added at some barns. They are shortening those lengthy runs and making them half ways or short lay downs. The home time is a good thing. The bad thing is the freight level is not that good. Which will make long waits. I seen a run added at 010 it started at 010 and went to 019 -017 something like that. I think 014 was in there somewhere then back to 017 then home..... I couldn't believe I didn't see any signatures on that one:biglaugh:

i know a few guys that made over 100 so it can be done ........but not this year
