I need a downloadable copy of the current FEDEX Line Haul Rule Book that includes dispatch procedures, bidding runs and dispatch order.
Thanks

Yes master. I will try and find that information and deliver it to you, just as soon as I possibly can. We are all here to serve your every request.:duh:

To my knowledge, you can only view at it your terminal(there's supposed to be a computer available in the driver's room), as far as a downloadable copy, I doubt you'd be able to get 1 without alot of hassle from management.

Try nicely asking your dispatcher to print you a copy of I believe it's chapter fifteen. If you can wait until tomorrow I'll look at our copy which is sitting on the driver's counter to check which chapters or lessons you want. Anything else you need us to jump through hoops for, Mr. 5 post boy?

They put it on the puter cause they know a bunch of dumb truckers wont ever go read it on there and they can change it anytime they want and keep make those gray areas even grayer.

1. Bid available runs based on board seniority.
1.a ***** about one board seniority vs job class seniority

2. Pre-trip assigned tractor.
2.a Deadline tractor and repeat as often as necessary

3 Receive hooks and look for said equipment.
3.a deadline and repeat
3.b Do not attempt to have the shop repair any defect.

4 Boot handheld. reboot handheld.

5 Depart within 30 minutes. This is very important! Even one minute late will result the wrath of Red Shirts.

6 Drive 15 to 195 miles depending on your strap.

7 Arrive at hub.
7.a Drop trailers at doors.
7.b Run, do not walk, to the dock and engage in a game of " I get the best lift"
7.c Pound the patio

8. Return to step #1 for return leg of trip and any Vias
8.a Vias and kickouts are at "Hub discretion"
8.b Hub discretion is a "fluid concept" and changes, by need, regularly.

9 Repeat above processes for a period of time until "The Company" deems a "change of operation" necessary.
9.a determine if you are in the top 25% of your board.
9.b Yes? relax ( unless all your positions need to be moved)
9.c No? sell house, car, kids. Move and start over.

10. Watch PT haul freight. Realize that a road job may just be hauling trailers to the train.

11. If you don't like it, leave.

This is just a brief overview of the established system and is not meant to cover all situations. Yours may be different(not likely).

Well the other thing I was trying to figure out is where is the rule book on center computer it seems they took it out. I seen rules on computer some months ago but it is not there anymore.

The rule book is there, you and I just cant see it. If you have a question that involves a certain rule, all you have to do is ask central, however, be ready for the word descretion (not sure of the spelling)to come up, it will be at there descretion?

I remember a meeting where they said they will no longer provide a copy to us, so they won't get in the hands of the Teamster's. It has something that might give them an edge to encourage drivers to join, maybe learn from? Sort of like Willy Wonka's secret.

The Teamster's being Slugworth.

With the rules on computer not paper, like history- can be changed without you knowing. Without a mediator, since we all don't have a ever-changing copy- book of rules, we are at the mercy of this companies/Redshirt's mood. When you call HO or MEM, they'll treat you like a criminal- stealing time from the company, not understanding the linehaul rules/pay. I don't know ANYONE who has the time to sit before, or after work at the kiosk to do this- usually a part-time dockhand is looking up nascar or pro-sport statistics, not that there is anything wrong with that...

If you do have this time, be a mediator. This will never happen. The mediator "want-to-be" at our center, left our building...

You want to get hold of the Supervisor training manual. It has two pages on dispatching. That will tell you the basic rules and what they see. Not what they interpret or what you to see in our book.:Rulz:
