The Salinas Fire Department and Pacific Gas & Electric Co. teamed up Saturday to free the driver of a Federal Express truck trapped in his vehicle by a live power line.
A spokesperson at Salinas Fire said the truck snagged a low-hanging power line about 3:30 p.m., pulling it down on top of the vehicle in the 300 block of Boronda Road.

The driver remained inside the truck until power could be shut off and the line was secured.

No one was injured.

"Preventable"!!!!!!!
Actually they changed the policy. If your on a legal road and you pull a wire down it's nonpreventable because they are supposed to be higher than 13'6''. I pulled a phone line down and it was deemed nonpreventable.

I pulled one down on a city street and it was chargable. Depends who you are I guess. Another driver took one down on a private driveway and it was non chargable. There is no rhyme or reason for the way they judge accidents
