FedEx Freight | Fxf Or Abf?

Up until a few years ago, I'd have said Fx, but the awful insurance, shameful pension, and stagnated pay rates would now have me saying UPS, OD, or ABF.

Chances are, you're going to be on the dock wherever you go,unless you luck into a fringe situation.
Might as well have better pay, benefits, and retirement.

We have a declining benefit package at fed ex, our stock and profit margins are higher than they have ever been, and we got a .75 cent raise (city) (road) got a half a penny this year and they took the raise right back with the raise in insurance. This is has been going on for years. I love working here for most part, but the way this company treats it's employees is disgraceful.

I appreciate everybody’s honesty. I know both are great companies. I know from a few guys on the bottom of the board at FXF u start off on extra board or short run 250-300 miles round trip and 4-5 hours on dock. Abf tops out at a little less but insurance is paid for, supposedly a pension if it’s still around in 20 years and no dock work

Try to find drivers in your area and ask their opinion. Managers make lots of promises, but drivers will let you know about what will be expected. Go where you will get your hours and hopefully doesn't take years to get to a good run. 20 years is a long time and you don't know about pensions so pick the best for now and hopefully it works out. Good luck!

I don't know how old you are, but something to consider is, will they still be paying your insurance 5 years from now?
You'll never see a pension if your don't have 15 teamster years now and want to retire in the next 5 either.
And if that's the case it'll be broke in the next 10 years.
The overall health of the company is something to consider as well.
How will they continue to compete with nonunion companies who don't have those pension liabilities?
The union part is great as it pertains to employment vs. at will employee.
