I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit back in the fifties and sixties. I remember one time the family headed down to the basement during a tornado alert. Nothing happen.
After work one day during the seventies while still living in Michigan, I was sitting in a local bar with a tv on enjoying a beer or two. All of a sudden a tornado alert was broadcasted on the tv.
Instead of heading for cover, many calls for another drink rang out.
Once again nothing happen.
