my dad ran doublebottoms from orlando to miami and back in the 70s for ryder they had 5 v12 kenworths just for that run .. he started with great sourthern in jacksonville fl. in the 50s . man he loved his job lived a great life he was proud of great southern and ryder truck lines best in the long run ...

I'm sure I knew your dad, I started in 1955 in Charl and ran Jax.
We started pulling the 2 45s with 250 Cummins, the FRC told Ryder to maintain 50 mph or park them, 250s couldn't do the job.
We wound up with 15 of the KWs, I think they were sent West after we quit pulling the 45s.
