I saw on the news that Yellow was also looking to buy all the cab companies in the country....their new CEO BRG said, "We will take on a lot of debt, but it won't hurt us, it makes good business sense as my financial consultant Bill Zollars has guaranteed me....what could possibly go wrong?" When pressed on his statement BRG cut the news conference short and said, "All you bastards go home!" to the reporters.

All of the banks have the loans signed and ready to go. They rub their hands together in anticipation.
They look forward to total control of the industry.

The acquisition, which is expected to close in summer 2005, will further advance Yellow Roadway as one of the leading transportation services companies in the world. The combined enterprise is expected to have annual revenue in excess of $9 billion, with over 70,000 employees and 1,000 service locations. In addition, the combined entity will offer customers a broad range of transportation services including next day, inter-regional, national and international capabilities.

"This is a case of opportunity knocking twice," said Bill Zollars, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Yellow Roadway. "USF represents an excellent opportunity to leverage the successful strategy that was employed with Roadway. When applied to USF, this includes maintaining the strong separate brand identities, customer interfaces and distinct operations of each business.

The opportunity knocked Zollars in the head twice. Once on the way out, and once on the way back.

Reading the article, the last sentence said it all. Welch said YRC would make bold, and progressive moves. He moved, right out the door to Schneider.
