Has anyone ever used this benefit? If so how or when could you use it and what’s the process? The insurance page isn’t that clear to me other than it’s an overview.

I know all my old coworkers said that open enrollment was a mess, and the website was effed.
You do have to create your account with Metlife. I do agree that the website is not the most user-friendly, but you can do everything needed there once you learn to navigate it. Start a claim, check status, and arrange payment.
The hospital indemnity pays you $500 if you are admitted and have a stay of 24 hrs +. It will not pay for out-patient procedures.
If you have the Critical illness policy, it will show up as well. You get reimbursed $50 for a yearly physical or other health screening.

It was easy for me too. The enrollment process has been the same for the 4 years the been here. No new frustrations or surprises.
