How do I get Cdl a

well some might say first have your head examined, (me being one of them) then if your still crazy enough to still want one. find a reputable school, or community college to get properly trained. avoid carrier training programs like the plague. usually they enslave you to a 2 yr contract for low pay(I've known guys that went bankrupt working for them)

I need to know how to get into driving what steps I need to do to drive
hopefully there is a truck driving school near you or with in at least, a 25 mile radius.

from there, you should check out on the web, how good they are, whether or not there are any BBB consumers complaints, or complaints by the state

you can get a driving course/training done in as little as 4 weeks, but i really would not go any lesser than that. to me, it is only an opinion that at the very best, an 16 week course would be better. however, with more weeks, comes more costs.

each school is different in pricing. some school saying they can train you in less than 4 weeks for under $500, stay away from,.

some schools, like one near me, the cost is about $11,000 for about 20 weeks (maybe a few extra weeks, as i am no longer knowing thier curriculum)

try to stay away from trucking companies that offer FREE TRAINING, as in the end, you will suffer. many of those FREE schools, force you into leasing your own rig, where you will nearly never make any money.

best bet, is to find a school and seek a student loan, on your own at your bank. many accredited schools have a tuition assistance and government grants and even sources from your state for training.

i usually NEVER recommend ANYONE to enter this industry. the reasons are legion.

but you asked, and i tried giving you some information.

good luck.

If available a tech school would be your best option. Steer clear of C.R. England and other OTR companies, as stated above you will have sold your soul to the devil and will go broke before you even get a chance. You might want to check with some nationwide carriers like ABF, Old Dominion or FedEx, they're about as good as it gets and they may offer training for an obligation. At least you won't go broke with one of them. I know that ABF does it in certain areas.

You really need a 7% Growth Rate. .."talk about getting a job..WoW You could pick your path"
Not now.....it's all a scam on desperate people looking for work. Start on the dock
Work your way up !!

My route to truck driver was school bus driver (Class B CDL), ice delivery driver(Class B CDL), got my permit as an ice delivery driver, rode with Class A licensed co-worker delivering ice. Took my test and got my Class A CDL in the company truck. Free CDL! Well, nearly free.
