We saw that first-hand here in the Pittsburgh area,...with two FedEx terminals....One was getting higher pay than the other,...and only when the FedEx terminal in New Stanton threatened to organize,....did FedEx equalize the pays of both terminals......

See what happens when you don't have a....National Contract? Pay and benefits fluctuate region to region....terminal to terminal,.....employee to employee?
Nothing written down,.....means you're...taking their Word.

On a Daily basis.......

(I was on the organizing drive for FedEx New Stanton, Pa.......It failed after the...pay raise...)
 
The union is a business , alot of the time seem to be on the company side we pay them so they make it look like they tried. Human resources I find not helpful ,HR has poster's up at work call them and there not on your side. At work you can't trust truck driver's back stabbing, too faced, always trying to stay a step ahead of you for some kind of selfish reasons or favoritism . Alot of worker's are not right in the head. Management not the best either, dispatchers can be like Karen's Want to pick and choose. Some of workers here want 60 plus hour's then drink all weekend. Some say there's no more good job's in America, well I wish I work the system better. I think a state of federal job plus disability was the way to go in this socialist country.

It’s not human nature to...ride the system. Unless you’ve given up in the face of what you perceive to be a faceless bureaucracy ......
If you can’t trust your fellow workers,......and you can’t trust the Union,.......and you don’t trust management....
You’re pretty much an island in the stream, right?

A “Union” .......is a group of people,....with an ethical goal......to remind management of the human cost of what it takes to....make a profit.
You can’t find a like-minded group of people? You don’t have the.....time,....the motivation,.....to try to make your Union work for you? Not important enough to...bother with?

Not to brag, or anything,........but I’m a 10th grade dropout,.....It doesn’t take a lot of....brains to coordinate an effort with your Brother Teamsters to make your Union work with for....you.

Just a Large Sense of Outrage against corruption......
If you’re giving up because it’s........too much “work”........

Then the management propaganda team has won another battle.......
 
Most of my tax money is wasted. To create job's the government basically gave to many people state or federal jobs with not much to do and there doing alot better than hard working people. I've had the union work against me in the past.

So have I,...I've had the Union work against me directly.......Type in "Williams Vs. M & G Convoy",...Dave Williams was my Steward at M & G,...Fantastic guy....
My name is in the rulings,......In 1980 the Union, Ryder Systems, and Volkswagen of America conspired to throw 15 of us out of work,..and hire inexperienced people,..so that terminal would vote for the Scottsdale(AZ.) Agreement,...which cut national carhaul wages by a fourth.
Took 5 years,.....Blackballed and threatened at Union jobsites,....But we won....

And when I had a chance to get back in the same Local(30),....I vowed to speak up and become a Pain in The Ass.
Didn't do it alone,.....but it worked,......and I was Proud of Local #30 for at least 20 years to my retirement....
Still am.......

My Point is, Brother,.......Don't Give Up. If your job is important to you,....If this is your Career,.....
Then.....Dig your heels in. Don't let some pencil-neck, long-term, desk-bound appointee discourage you from attending,....and LOUDLY PARTICIPATING in the meeting. Arm yourself with the Bylaws. Take notes,......Question spending,....Know your NLRB Rights....Question Spending,.....Ask for reasons about decisions.......
Question Spending.......

If you give up,........and bow your head to...pressure,.....it's kind of hard to look your family in the Eye with your head bowed...
And the Companies win. ....A quiet and subservient workforce,....fearful for their jobs and healthcare,.....is the Wet Dream of all management.

You're better than that, Brother.............The American Way,...is to get nose-to-nose with corporate and political dictators.....

Canary, with your writing skills and command of the English language, it is hard to believe that you are a 10th grade drop out..
Really...hard to believe and that is a big time compliment..Heck, I have a community college degree and still just a dumb ole (retired) trucker!

Yup his writing skills are great, I hate typing and writing. Was a computer science and math major in college. Can't stand writing anymore.
 
Ahhh,......But I went through 10th grade two-and-a- half times........I got that Grade down good!

Maybe you could say I’m......thorough.....If I hadn’t gone into the Air Force,.......and my Principal would’ve given me until age 22,.......I might’ve graduated by “thoroughly” going through each Grade a couple years at a time.......

But for some reason,......my Principal became obstinately opposed to my Plan........Such inflexibility......
I coulda graduated Summa Cum Abouttime........and went to Wassamatta U.

Such is Life.....

The last time I was at Greensburg was when that cop got killed on 30 near ligonier. I was there in the morning after the crash, Canary were you there too?

Yes,.......Sad day. The guy that was drunk and in the wrong lane, in his boss's company work van,.....actually worked out of the building right behind the terminal. Westmoreland Pools.....business actually shared our yard.

At the time we heard about the crash,...we weren't aware of who was involved, other than the fatally injured poor policeman. It took a few days before the identity came out,.....and we realized one of those scruffy bozos we saw every morning loading up pool supplies,...was the perpetrator.

And,....Of course,.....the Drunk walked away from the wreck.....Can't remember how many years he got in jail......

I was stuck in traffic in Ligonier the day of the funeral. Hundreds of police cars........

Canary is just telling you that crap, we both went to different schools together.
He went to Penn State, I went to the state pen.
We were both (road) scholars.

No.....it was Pen State......Lots of hogs, mud,....smelly....I became Head Shoveler......able to sling it better than anyone else......

I didn't really "repeat" a grade...I was a pretty good athlete (even if I do say so)..you know in college athletics, they have a "red shirt" year where basically someone is held out a year. Well, I was an "academic" red shirt and repeated the 9th grade so that I would have 4 years to play high school sports (this is not b/s...the truth!). Our school was famous for that and some of the parents (not all)go along with it
 
The only sport I was good at was....skipping.....World Class,..if you know what I mean.

But,...there's always a Silver Lining,......All four of my children graduated,...played college athletics,...good grades B.A's , Masters....

When they were in High School,..and hitting the "rebellious" years.,.......I told them there wasn't a trick, scam, or diversion they could pull,....that I hadn't done...In Spades,......and think they could get away with.

So,....knowing I knew all the..."tricks"(invented a few they never thought about...)......they just buckled down and did well....

Yeah,..well,...I went to three different High Schools,....one and a half years at one,...two weeks at another,....and seven months at the last....Expelled from two,...left the last......

If they gave Degrees in Immature Arrogant Attitudes,..........I would've Matriculated,...With Honors,......
