MOBILE - Motorists experienced serious delays along interstate 65 this morning. A tanker collided with a car shortly after 11:30 pm last night. After the crash, the tanker caught on fire. At least one person inside the car was killed. According to the truck driver, the vehicle was reportedly parked in the right hand lane on I-65, with it's headlights off. Officials say the truck was carrying some hazardous materials, so a haz-mat team had to be called in. While officials clean up the mess, motorists are asked to use caution in the area of exit 15 due to contruction and clean-up crews in the area.

After a seven hour delay, the southbound lanes were reopened early this morning.

The northbound lanes finally reopened around 10:30 am. Earlier, traffic traveling northbound on interstate 65 was detoured at exit 13 to highway 158 east to highway 43 north, and back to interstate 65 in Satsuma-Creola. Traffic traveling southbound was detoured earlier at exit 19 - Highway 43 south to Highway 158 west - back to interstate 65 in Saraland.
