In May, under pressure from the news media, Donald Trump made good on a pledge he made four months earlier: He gave $1 million to a nonprofit group helping veterans’ families.

Before that, however, when was the last time that Trump had given any of his own money to a charity?

I personally would have stayed out of Afghanistan and Iraq.
But when we spend as much blood and treasure as we did I don't like the way we just walked away.
We could've done better with a status of forces agreement but dumb a$$ had to get out quick to appease his base .

I understand what you're saying, however, in my opinion, since it was an extremely wasteful use of resources, especially the lives lost...the human cost, it wouldn't make sense to stay when it is clear that the stated "mission" was a failure.....especially considering the fact you wouldn't have gone in the first place.....along with the cost....especially the human cost...which are ongoing...... How many human lives were saved by getting out sooner rather than later...? That alone makes it worthwhile.....

Whatever Obama's reason was, it was the better option than wasting more lives and more money by staying in....
As far as appealing to a political "base" .....there isn't a politician that doesn't...because we both know the first job of a politician is to keep getting "elected"....not what may be in best interests of the people...

I predict that IF Trump wins, and we get another huge terrorist attack here, IF Trump will flatten one of the ISIS stronghold cities, those savages will acknowledge that there is a new sheriff in town, and they might just settle down. If they choose not to.......flatten another strong hold city.......etc.etc.
Since they only understand death, give them exactly what they understand.
Tolerance or death is their only two choices.

What he means is, I believe, is if Bush hadn't invaded Iraq to begin with we wouldn't have the ISIS problem we now have.....and at the least, had they not been barred from serving in the new Iraqi military, we wouldn't have the ISIS problem we have......... I concur with that view.....

That's a lot of "ifs" and assumptions.....
You advocate more wars and bombings.... By flattening cities you surely understand that completely innocent people will die and many more will suffer horribly......and yet you seem so cavilier about it.....
The Iraqi war, and tremendous costs, did nothing to stem the tide of terrorism....much less stop it..... How does it make sense that more wars...more innocent deaths and more money spent is going to work?....
