Well, You lost me in your Rant. I get Paid for all the things you listed , except fueling. Drop/hooks ...are you kidding me......Awl unless you mean dropping and hooking at the meet point, in otherwords, pay me to swap out...Get Real....I get all My Delay from my Cut Time, Period, if you don't then fight for it. There are rules in place to cover this and they are fair IMO....

If I have misunderstood your complaint, I am Sorry, but I get Paid Well for what I do and am the First to speak Out if I don't..... You should to, but not to the world, try the powers that be......Bitching on TB never got me a dime......Confronting the L/H manager usually works, if not , their are people above him or her to....

We do get paid well for all we do. And I don't think Fxn us going to start paying me to swap at my meet point. That is a bit much to ask for. Maybe we can save it as a bargin point for the union LOL. Just make sure your socks are at least 3 inches above your ankles and your underwear is purple( new rule ) memo : 6435part7325 did y'all get it !!!!! Line haul is to start checking next wk.

WOW! What can I say? At least Im not the only one.......
Shall we have a "Annual Meeting"? :beerchug:

You guys don't get paid to swap out at your meet point?

Do you get paid anything to hook when you begin your day, or drop at the end of your day.

At FXF we get .5 to hook or drop a set, when were at our meet point we get .25 to swap trailers. If you pull the tractor out from a set leaving them together, you get .25. We also get .25 for fueling.

well i have gotten all delay time so far and drop (break a set apart put set together)i think that we should get paid for the doing the drop a set at meet point at least 15 minutes like freight and we should get paid to fuel the truck but we dont. and if you dont think we should get paid for this mabe u could do this work for me at meet point.just fueling the truck at a set 15 minutes u loss over 800.00 dollars per year.( would look good on vacation) or what about the drops at meet point about the same

No pay for initial hook but most sets are already hooked. No pay for swap and pretrip at meet point but most sets are already hooked. Those of us who do triples do get paid for assembly. No pay for last drop and post trip but most sets get left together and I have never been paid for that anywhere I have worked. No pay for fueling and it is all offsite fueling sometimes can take .5 at a busy truck stop. So all in all paid well for most everything I do however I would like to get paid to fuel especially since FXF gets paid to do it at there own facilities but I guess it must be in with the mileage pay. By the way I work for FXN so that this makes sense. I am not ranting just stating what we do and don't get out of my barn. :hissy:

When you mark on your trip at the kiosk that you did a hook or un-hook, you are paid 1/2 hour for each. If you are at a place without a kiosk, tell the dispatcher or central when you call it to give it to you. And that's at FXN. If you aren't getting paid for this, it's because you aren't putting in for it. Nobody's fault but your own. If they are already hooked, why would you want to get paid for it?

IMO I want to be paid for what I do,but to want to be paid to back under my set(hook in FXF language) or to be paid to drop that set at destination is being greedie...I would like to be paid to fuel though. Like I said ,just my opinion.

Maybe it's just a little confusion on the terms. When I say hook and un-hook, I'm referring to putting together and separating sets of trailers. I guess I should be a little clearer. I always assumed that hooking my tractor to my trailers and unhooking my tractor at the end of the day was a part of the pre-trip and post trip, and was included in the mileage rate, since pulling the trailers down the road is in essence what the job is.
As far as fueling is concerned, at FXN we do not fuel the trucks at the terminals. We drop the tractors outside the fueling bays and go home. They are fueled and parked when we return. If we chose to wait and "live" fuel at the terminals, we do our paperwork while we are waiting.
Please forgive me for being rather unsympathetic with regards to getting paid for fueling, but isn't that the kind of nickel and dime stuff that puts companies out of business? I mean, as far as one driver is concerned, it isn't much, but if you add it up over the entire company, it comes to $82,675.50 per day, based on 1/4 hour per day times FXN's hourly rate of $22.05 per hour times times the figure of 17,000 company trucks, as published by Transport topics in their list of top for hire companies in 2009. If you consider that many of the trucks are run by two drivers per day around the clock, that dollar figure is way low.
I just always thought that as we burned the fuel as part of the job of driving the truck that we were paid to do, then re-fueling is just a part of the job.
Now yes, I know that this company wastes amazing amounts of money due to ignorant people at top management doing stuff like using outside carriers while leaving company drivers sit at home, or running empty trailers from one terminal to another just to have them pass other empty trailers going the other way while these same outside carriers are hauling loaded trailers of our freight between these same terminals, but does that make it right for the rest of us to bleed the company dry? I don't know. Maybe I'm just spinning my wheels here, but I'm not going to lower my standards of integrity just to be like everyone else.
Yea, I know, I'm running my mouth again. Sorry if I bored anyone.

I think, after reading my last post, that I should make one thing clear. I am not saying that anyone is trying to nickel and dime the company into extinction. Especially ls57racer. I have been reading his posts from the start, and I always respect what he has to say. In fact, if the company does go union, I vote for him to represent us. Just go back and read his past posts in other threads and I think you will agree.
But I do think that many of us never took the time to consider how much a small per person benefit like paid fueling costs the company as a whole. I know the above figure surprised me when I figured it out. by the way, I was wrong, It comes to $14,994.00 per day. Still a lot of money.
So please, don't anyone be offended by what I said. It wasn't meant to offend.

Man, I am glad I get paid for everything I do at Fedex Ntl from the time I punch in at 7am till the time I punch out at 1800-1830 depending on what time I get back from my p-d route and turn in my paperwork--props to all you line haul drivers, especially those who drive at night and those who run in rain, snow, ice, fog==you guys have it rough some times, but so do we in the city with all the frt we handle and all the customers we have to deal with---maybe we should all be paid by the hour, then we would all be paid for everything we do everyday.    :iamnotworthy: :iamnotworthy:
