Iowa DOT Motor Vehicle Enforcement (MVE) recently shared a photo of a mangled trailer along with a warning about auctions.

On Friday, March 17, Iowa DOT MVE shared a social media post with the following message:

“Buying trailers from an auction can be a risky deal. Something may be wrong with the equipment that you don’t notice until you get it home. In this case, we are pretty sure everyone noticed the defect…

*This was not SAIA. The trailer was purchased at an auction *”

Facebook users were left amused but also wanting answers after perusing the unusual post.

Obviously,Wayne Trucking bought the trailer cheap, and planned on either fixing it, or stripping off what good parts are left. Iowa DOT was probably more concerned about safety, with it going down I 380 to Cedar Rapids.
