I am a proud new CT team member. My understanding is Vitran vacation time rolled over to PTO time that is use it or lose it by end of year. My question is what is CTs rule on paying out PTO time if you leave the company. Do you lose if it you leave the company even if you have accrued the time?

If you are going to leave then why did you join Central Transport? I am sure there are less senior drivers who would have wanted a spot you took up. You might as well stick it out until the end of the year and use what vacation you have.

Everyone has a job in my barn. It's nothing against CT. I fully recognize they saved a company from going out of business.
I have bigger ambitions then to work under the pay rules CT follows. It's better for me to walk away and start over.

if you leave pto is gone ct doesn't pay for time not used , you just get burned........that's why if you need a day off be it personal or sick when you call off they will charge a vacation day? you'll get paid 8 hrs but that's the way they do it.

with the way it's working most Vitran drivers were not given the choice of staying or coming over and only given a day or so notice of your move over, so even if you had something in the pipeline but it wasn't finalized you were sent over when your "number" was drawn, therefore causing a short stay at central.
