I was going through an old shoe box of stuff here and found a letter sent by Jerry to me, I did not know him personally but he had 2 pictures of his grand kids in the envelope, I looked up his wife and sadly she has passed as well. Jerry and I exchanged Phone Numbers because of Truckingboards! Jerry and i used to call each other 3-4 times a year. One time I hadn't heard from him for a while so I called him. His wife answered and I said “can Jerry come out and play?” That’s when she told me he had died.

Just months earlier their daughter had died from results of a Gastric Bypass Operation gone bad. That operation was part of why we called each other. My wife had had the same and it almost killed her too- she spent 12 more days in the hospital and had two more operations to save her life. Then I got to meet the hospital Attorney because they sent me a bill for $ 133,000! The hospital tried to settle for half of their mistake. My comment was- so your doctor made 1/2 a mistake, and my wife who was under anesthesia made 1/2 a mistake? The bill was eaten by the hospital so I wouldn't sue them….

Thats how mattjm and I got together. My regret is that I never got to take him to dinner!!!!! He posted rough on here, but he was a real sweetheart!
