discount. what percentage increase is that…30-35%?

Our natural gas bill is 50% higher than a year ago but it’s a little colder this year. Probably about 40-45% more higher

I heat with wood so retail natural gas prices for heating are not a concern but the price for natural gas used for power plants are reflected by my electrical power bills. My natural gas royalty checks have been more than the last few years. I look at the Henry Hub prices to get an idea what the price is. The latest price listed was Feb. 15. It was in the $4.30 range. ( Priced by cubic ft. or BTU). The history of prices is interesting. We were exporting liquified natural gas from plants in Louisiana and the Texas coast to countries that have no natural gas. Now thanks to Biden, Russia will supply oil & natural gas & Putin will regain political power over countries dependent on imported oil and natural gas.
Nuclear is still the lowest cost fuel followed by coal. Both are reliable sources as is natural gas. We saw last winter how unreliable wind power is when the wind turbines froze & were offline for quite a while. The Greenies were successful a generation or two ago in their effort to demonize nuclear & block construction of new plants. Now, some they admit they were wrong but it will more than take a decade now to build nuclear plants & bring them online. Much of Europe has low cost nuclear powered plants.

Searcy just trumpeted a new solar generating plant. Something like 300 mw capacity in sunshine over 80 some acres of solar panels.

All of those panels will need replacing in a few years when they burn up. So it's not a recipe for success. We have a 100mw peaker driven by nat gas nearby. They saved our power grid back in the great texas freeze failure last winter. We were very close at times to tripping our own grid at max load. Those peakers made the difference at a horrendous cost in gas.

This winter both reactors in Nuclear One at Russellville are fueled and at power. Fit to do battle this winter. About half of all my electric comes just from there.

We will not have much of that tonight when half a inch of ice covers everythning above Little Rock and I 40. In the hills up here we expect over a inch, the freezing rains are coming in a few hours from texas. Power failures will begin at half inch accumulations any time after around 8 pm tonight. I 40 and so on will be impossible with many wrecks.
