Kamala Harris saved 400,000 Teamster Pensions. Trump didn't lift a finger.

......if Carter didn't deregulate...
they never would've needed saving

Government creates problem.
Government fixes problem.

They OWED.
I think you got it backwards. Government created a problem with regulation. Fixing it by deregulating fixed the problem by returning the industry to the free market system that make America the largest economy in the world.

It's not a free market system when you made up for the losses with tax funded socialist crap.

Graphs for how much socialist nonsense existed before deregulation and insane amounts of imports...
.and how much after.
I think we know the answer.
Do you not understand that government control of commerce is the definition of Socialism?

The government did not own the businesses..
But can do whatever it wants to sink accompany or give it contracts to profit or survive.

States should be able to regulate. If they're stuck with the loss of jobs and welfare bills....and loss of tax revenue.....then they should be able to defend themselves. State government should be obligated to their State over the federal government ...just like abortion......even though it's moral....it is also revenue.....which is probably a big part of why there is a lobby for it.

Loss of wages and standards as in deregullations and allowing foreign junk in which destroys jobs also devalues some localities properties at times.
If a state wants regulation...such as blue states might want....they should be allowed .and the interstate commerce crap should not be above the states desires.
The Constitution gives the Federal government the power to regulate interstate commerce. Read the Federalist Papers. The writers of the Constitution recognized the necessity of the free movement of goods and services between states. States cannot impose tariffs or taxes on goods moving through their state. States cannot prohibit the transportation of goods through their state. it's a basic free market economy.

Who is the "community". The community is the government. It is government that represents the individuals. Just like the union represents the "community of Teamsters". It's collectivism. Again, the definition of socialism.

1980 is 200 years after the nation began.
Why wait so long if it was all about the Constitution and such?
I'd say it's a wrong policy. It was fine for everybody until 1980.
I'd say the banks and top investors wanted more than their fair share and got bit once again.
At the cost of the nation.
They ruined the job.
Actually, the nation was destroyed and the Constitution neutered in 1913.
The 17th Amendment took away all the states rights except the electoral college by taking away the state assemblies right to appoint senators.
1913 was also the year the 16th amendment creating the income tax was ratified. We have a system of taxation based on the economy of 1913.

Who gets to decide the fair share? What policy are you talking about?
We have the world's largest economy. What job got ruined? Certainly not truck drivers. There are more trucks on the road than ever before.
