LME locked out all employees on 11/19/16 permanently with no prior notice. No wages were paid for work already performed. It is reported that 95 Teamster members at the St Paul, MN (Roseville) terminal are now without a job and no pay shortly before Thanksgiving and now Christmas thanks to the cold-hearted Wilsey family. The unexpected closing was posted on the locked gate when employees came to work Sat morning. The company has been rerouting all their recent business to a non-union company also owned by the same Roger Wilsey family and reducing their union employees to under 100 (95). A fleet of new Mack and Int'l tractors was recently bought (most likely leased) by LME Lakeville Motor Express only to appear at the other non-union, family owned company, Finish Line Express (FLE), in Maple Grove, MN a few miles away. This was a longtime planned screw-job of the 95 Teamsters at Roseville and hundreds of others at their other terminals. They have been bleeding off business, employees and equipment from LME to FLE to the point they say they can claim they are losing money at LME. The public and freight customers need to know about this and refuse to do business with Finish Line Express (FLE). Anybody who treats their employees (either union or non-union) in this manner deserves to be boycotted.
For the full story from a locked-out former LME employee - go to Google and enter ; pissed off consumer/Lakeville Motor Express - then the ...8 LAKEVILLE MOTOR EXPRESS web site.
This guy knows the "inside story" and it ain't pretty.
