I think I saw a thread about this ( lost in the crash? )

Anyhow , I've read that 30 account executives were let go during the most recent round of layoffs. Best of luck to those losing your jobs with little to no notice.

It's pretty routine in this industry that a management or sales position layoff come with no notice. Also, if the same were to tender their notice, they are escorted off the premises immediately. It is also routine that they are paid for the notice time, ex. 2 weeks notice.

Let me clarify: A terminal nearby is busy , and making money ( they have the numbers to show ) yet , they are cutting hours and changing bids less than two months after they were set.

Same thing happened at my place. We made money last year but now we aren't. Let go of a Salesman and yet we are susposed to increase sales. Cutting runs and putting it on CRPS and ENGC. Not enough work but not enough equipment to handle the freight we have. The whole thing is upside down, I am working in the bizarro world

The question i have, and this goes for all companies that use purchased transportation, why stay in business if your going to outsource work that you hired employee's to do? I don't care how much cheaper they are every company employee should be working before they use an outside carrier....

No way they laid off people without notice. This company cares way too much about its employees to do such a thing . Even if they were in a bad financial way they wouldn’t do this. Fake news!

If it's like this now , what will it be like when things take a downturn?

Will drivers keep their jobs over dockworkers? Or , will the cheapest way to go be the direction of XPO?

Maybe they will keep drivers and simply cut wages and benefits?

For those of you that work at XPO , ask what the future plans are...( to your manager and/or your manager's manager )

Most likely , you will get double talk or a change in topic.

I watched a driver explain the "Takeover" article to a manager and the manager flipped out. After pulling himself together he asked for a link to the article.

XPO may be doing the right things to run the company correctly. Maybe. But , who knows , the upper management communicates only as much as they legally have to.

Their always cutting benefits, A wage cut will start a major exodus...

You mean increase the speed of the exodus. Experienced drivers have been bailing big time. I moved up 30 spots last year, myself. The health care is horrific. One guy has a special needs child and they refused care. He's at UPS now. Not because he wanted to go. Not because he was a bad hand. Because family comes first. And he'd do anything for his kid. That's how you man the frak up, boys.

We tell our local management what's going on. They hear nothing. And are stressed the hell out. Over worked. To much bull **** . And we all show them articles and videos all the time.
