Can anyone inform me why aaa doesnt pay their linehaul drivers to hook sets, unhook, hostle, fuel and pretrip? How does pushing and pulling dollys around not qualify as doing work for the company? Discuss.

Saia does the same thing. They only pay you the one time that you drop and hook at your meet site. $9.70 Because they can get away with it.

They pay cooper NOTHING to hook drop or switch trlrs even at a meet and turn or dark terminal. Its unfair and unjust imo. You should get compensated for the work you do. Period.

So call Dothan and let them know.. I'm sure they will get right on it... I thought you were looking at getting a job there, not :stirthepot:....

That's true. Saia does not pay the first hook or last break. However, Saia does pay for every other drop n hook or swap that a driver makes. Some routes can be up to 4 or 5 paid drops or swaps a night.

We too are regional competitors and we only get paid for delay after 45 minutes, no drop or hook pay, granted we are 100% 53' fleet. Straight mileage and rare delay pay, nothing else. But I'm sure you guys are like us too, make 10-15,000.00 more a year than hourly employees.

I worked at a place that was 4-5hrs a night waiting without pay...every hour the blood boiled more and more..lol.
Now I'm Union, and don't wait at all (because they pay) but, anytime someone mentions union, all anyone has to do is point to the YRC board, and it's squashed...it's too bad really, cause it's really the way to go in trucking (from a drivers viewpoint)
