My slip seat driver told me that they were told in his meeting that we are locked into this Health Insurance plan for 3 years? Don’t we re enroll every year?

No, you choose your coverage every year not the plan. The prices and the plan are already predetermined for the term of the contract between united and FedEx.
If so it would make sense. This insurance is a disgrace. Shame on the company minions who ran around and said it’s no worse than everyone else’s. BS, it’s one of the absolute worse in our industry. The company is the insurance company in this instance and you can bet they are making plenty off of it. It’s also a real nice touch when your doctor says you need something done and they tell you they won’t cover it because they think you don’t. It a socialist healthcare system period. Thank your RDA in the GBO region he fought for this BS.

That's why I did not carry insurance in trucking because of specifically the insurance company making medical decisions to deny something that doctor and I agree needs to be done.
Fine. Bill me. We will cross that bridge after a 80000 dollar Hip replacement is all done and over with backed by a 10,000 dollar traveling rehab bill combined with another 5000 in associated costs. (Trapeze, walker etc)
And that's exactly what the trauma center would do. Billed me. We paid them. The last time was a bit iffy. A coil went after me after getting loose. I managed to not get mashed but only just.
Trauma center in Chicago racked up a cool 40,000 bill in a few hours before cutting me loose. You would think the dispatcher was the worse hurt from all the screaming he made, as if I am not allowed to seek any kind of medical care at all. F him and the corporate culture that denies drivers the freedom of choosing.
