Yellow | Logging off duty / while waiting for freight warning letters

We had a member at 218 Richfield and 211 Copley received warning letters for logging off duty while waiting for freight. Any one else getting these letters....is this a violation of federal dot regulations? ???
DOT regulations say all time spent waiting on bills or doing paperwork is on duty

If you are waiting for load etc. At a terminal did you know that the dispatcher can put you off duty up to an hour?you'll get paid for the time but dispatcher can do that.Plus if they do that they are supposed to supply a way for the driver to go get something to eat.

I would like to see where that is done, and who gives a dispatcher authority to circumvent federal regulations.

You can be in bed and get paid. It's also manditory to take a 1/2 hour break before your 8th hour. Pretty sure if you have hazmat that should be a violation too. YRC just picks and chooses what they want to inforce.

Once again, the DOT does not care if you log paid time on or off duty, only that you're logging it correctly. You can be off duty and still be paid although your this will not stop your 14 hr clock.

YRC drivers can log as they please, they can also watch movies on thier phone with 1970's head phones on, while in a work zone, notice the orange barrels. His face and tattoos had been blocked out to protect the guilty. This picture brought to you by the Telegraph, telephone, and the tell-a-teamster Network.

Your whole reply makes no sense. The DOT does not care if you log it on or off duty ???

That is not what I said. They only care if you're logging it correctly, not if you're being paid or not. So yes, you can log of duty and still be paid.

Most YRC drivers don't get level 3 inspections so they become complacent with their logs. If a serious accident happens they will learn the login procedure the hard way. And YRC will be happy to hand over all your falsified logs and warning letters to the DOT and the FMCSA after the accident for 3 hots and a cot.

Get in an accident and have the lawyers find out you went over hours for that day by getting paid off the clock for whatever reason. They will have a field day with the lawsuit, with the driver and the company.

Very confusing statement!!! Care to share how that works with the 70hr rule.
