WOODBURY — Officials closed down all northbound lanes of the New York State Thruway in Harriman shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday, diverting all traffic off the highway at Exit 16.
Early reports indicate a victim ejected from a vehicle involved in a crash was struck on the highway.
Police and firefighters were on the scene beginning at about 5:20 p.m. Officials gave no indication of when the Thruway would reopen.
