Man reportedly sleeping in semi dies after being shot during triple shooting incident in D.C.

The Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a man who was reportedly sleeping in a moving semi truck last week.

The shooting occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2023, in the 600 block of Kenilworth Avenue.

Police responded to the scene for a reported shooting and found two adult male victims at the scene. The men were transported to a hospital for treatment.

A third victim, later identified as 29 year old Sergio Nicolas Rosario Arias, of Bronx, New York, was located shortly after in Prince George’s County. Arias was transported to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries on April 1.

According to a report from NBC New York, Arias was inside the sleeper berth of a truck when two people began shooting at one another from cars. The report indicates that Arias was asleep when he was struck by gunfire and then the driver of the truck pulled over in Prince George’s County.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
